How To Choose Embroidery Needle Size?

Choose embroidery needles

The needle of cross stitch is a special needle, the needle point is blunt, and the needle eye is large, larger than the normal needle. The blunt point will not break the embroidery thread during the embroidery process. The needles of cross stitch have different lengths, the larger the number, the smaller the needle. Generally, there are 22 gauge, 24 gauge, 26 gauge, and 28 gauge needles. Under normal circumstances, 14COUNT or smaller embroidery fabrics use 22 gauge needles, 16-18COUNT embroidery fabrics use 24 gauge or 26 gauge embroidery needles, and 28 gauge needles are suitable for embroidery fabrics over 18COUNT. Embroidery needles should be large enough to move a single fiber on the fabric slightly, which prevents the thread from tangling or rubbing too much as it goes through and hurting the thread.

Needle selection also takes into account the thickness of the thread and the number of strands used.

All kinds are unified, just use your favorite needle size.
After using it for a long time, the paint plated on the needle will fall off, which is not good-looking, and secondly, it is difficult to use the needle. A new needle is required. There are some specially treated needles with gold or platinum plating on the surface, which are more expensive but can last a long time. You can choose your favorite needle to use.

Armchair cushions are great for needles, but that would be inconvenient for your family, or allow them to see the embroidery equipment that you don't want them to know about. Therefore, you can use a sponge pad specially designed for needle placement. In addition, a magnet needle box is also good.
